New rural crime initiative launched by Avon & Somerset Police
The number 81819 will allow the public to text information directly to the Rural Crime Team, who will be able to assess and action the intelligence quickly and efficiently.

Report Road Problems On-Line Somerset County Council now has a system whereby you can report, potholes, weeds, overgrown verges, failed lights etc.  To get directly to the reporting system, click HERE. There is also a site for Rights of Way. You can see them all on a map, click HERE

Speeding on the A30
We did have a team of people checking speeds at 4 places around the village. See HERE
Below is a summary of what the automatic checker recorded in October 2015. Results from 2016 and later are very similar.
– 1600 vehicles each day travel west into the village (1200 on Sundays)
– Only about 100 of these (6%) obey the 30mph speed limit
– About 1100 (67%) travel at 30 to 40 mph
– About 400 (25%) travel at 40 to 50 mph
– About 33 (2%) exceed 50mph.  That’s 12,000 per year
